BCCI leaves Zinbabwe tour decision on Dhoni

BCCI's national selection committee is all set to pick some fresh rising cricketers for three ODIs and two T20 international matches to be held in Zimbabwe in June. The committee, led by former India cricketer Sandeep Patil, has left it to Dhoni to take a call on his availability for the tour of Zimbabwe.

Dhoni may not get to play any limited overs cricket until March 2017 as there are no ODI or T20 series assigned for India in the upcoming season. They will be playing 17 Test matches under the leadership of Kohli.

A top BCCI official said "Yes, it is true that selectors have spoken to some of the senior Indian players intimating them that they would be looking at juniors during this tour. While Virat Kohli , Rohit Sharma , Shikhar Dhawan were set to be rested, there were some seniors, who had made themselves available for the tour. But selectors told them that only exception may be made for Dhoni, who no longer plays Test cricket."
