Shivamogga: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the double-engine government's progress in Karnataka on Monday, saying that although prior growth in the state had been restricted to major cities, the BJP government is now aiming to extend that progress to the state's rural.

As he opened the Shivamogga Airport and other developments in the state, PM Modi spoke at a public rally in Shivamogga, Karnataka.

"Whether it's a vehilcle or the government... If a double engine is fitted, its speed increases manifold. Earlier, when the development of Karnataka was discussed, it was limited to the big cities, but our government is working to take the development to the villages of Karnataka, to Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities," said PM Modi.

When comparing the changeover of "Air India" from the Congress to the BJP, Prime Minister Modi noted that what was once known as a "loss-making business model" is now showing off a "new capability of India."

"Before to 2014, whenever Air India was brought up, it was typically for bad news. Air India was well-known for frauds under the Congres administration because of its loss-making business strategy. Today, Air India is showcasing a brand-new capacity for India to the globe "The PM stated.

In his speech to the crowd, Prime Minister Modi predicted that soon Indians will be flying in passenger jets made in the country.  "In the time to come, thousands of aircraft will be needed in India. Right now, we might be importing these aircraft from abroad but the day is not far away when the people of India will travel in 'Make in India' passenger aircraft," he said.

Although we currently import these aircraft from abroad, the day when Indians would fly in passenger aircraft made in India is not far off " he added.

"Congress never considered providing air connectivity for small towns, despite the need. Many of the nation's smaller communities now have up-to-date airports. You can envision how quickly the BJP government is operating, "said Modi. "The BJP government works to improve the lives of the underprivileged and advance women's rights. We therefore made every effort to assist them, "added the prime minister.

PM Modi said, Shivamogga is a region rich in culture, agriculture, and natural beauty, and the construction of a new airport will help the city flourish. "There will be more opportunities in the aviation industry. Today's increase in air travel is a result of the BJP government's policies and choices. The nation had 74 airports as of 2014. Nine years ago, 74 new airports were constructed " he said. When referring to the upcoming water delivery project, Prime Minister Modi stated that the massive campaign will make it simpler to provide "water from the tap to every dwelling."

"Throughout this entire region, improved connectivity and infrastructure will lead to the creation of new employment prospects. A significant initiative is currently underway to improve the lives of the mothers and sisters in Shivamogga and the surrounding area. In this effort, "water from the tap to every dwelling" is the goal" he said.

PM Modi will inaugurate water supply projects worth Rs 2,500 crore at Shivamogga and Belagavi districts of Karnataka. More than 13 lakh residents of the two districts will benefit from the water supply projects, which are being carried out as part of the Center's flagship "Jal Jeevan Mission."
