Hapur: So far, 13 persons have been killed in a blast at a chemical factory in UP's Hapur on Saturday. Yesterday, 12 persons were killed and 20 injured in the boiler burst. One person died on Sunday. According to sources, the cause of the blast in the factory could be the gunpowder used to make toy guns. The explosion was so dangerous that its sound was heard up to 10 km away.

The blast took place in a factory called Ruhi Industry in Hapur. IG Parveen Kumar said that according to preliminary investigation, the owner of the factory has been identified as Dilshad. Police officials said that some long plastic cartridges have been seized from the premises of the factory. Preliminary investigations suggest that some cartridges used in toy guns were also made in the factory. Sources said that the gunpowder used in the construction process could be the reason for such a big bang.

Following the incident, the Uttar Pradesh Police has registered an FIR under Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder). An accident took place at a chemical factory in Hapur in Uttar Pradesh at around 3 pm on Saturday when its boiler exploded. Twelve people were killed and 20 injured. The explosion was so dangerous that the roofs of some factories in the vicinity were damaged. The case took place at a factory named Ruhi Udyog located in Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Authority (UPSIDC) area in Dholana. The factory got the license in 2021.
