Puducherry: 20 children have been found positive for coronavirus in the Union Territory of Puducherry, after which they have been admitted to hospital. Health and Family Welfare Services Director S Mohan Kumar has said that the children have been admitted to Indira Gandhi Government Medical College Hospital in Kadirakam. Kumar said information on the age of children is being collected.
Keeping in view the positive condition of children and corona, the Education Minister of Puducherry has said that the government had earlier decided to reopen schools and colleges but has now decided to postpone it due to the current coronavirus situation. We will announce the opening of educational institutions and colleges later, he added. According to data released in Puducherry on Wednesday morning, the total number of infected people rose to 1.19 lakh after 121 new corona cases were reported. The total number of people dying of the disease has gone up to 1,772 after another person died of infection. According to the health department, the patient had diabetes. Five cases each have been registered from Puducherry (93), From Karaikal (18), and From Mahe and Yanam.
Health Department Director S Mohan Kumar said that 1,327 people are undergoing treatment for Covid-19 in Puducherry. During this period, 177 people recovered, taking the total number of patients recovering from the disease to 1,16,203. The positivity rate here is 1.99 percent, while the death rate is 1.49 and the recovery rate is 97.40 percent.
