London: Even though the Lord's Test match between England and Australia players ended on the field on Sunday, it is still being covered by media outlets in both nations. The Australian media responded on Tuesday morning by calling Ben Stokes and his side "crybabies" after the British media on Monday made fun of the Australian squad over the contentious dismissal of Jonny Bairstow.
When Stokes noticed that one of the newspaper front pages had gone viral on social media, he couldn't help but respond in a hilarious way.
The West Australian posted a picture of Stokes in nappies, with 'Crybabies' written in big letters in the centre. "Poms take whingeing to new level with 'cheating' drivel" read another line from the paper.

Reacting to the post, Stokes wrote: "That's definitely not me, since when did I bowl with the new ball".
Stokes claimed that he wouldn't want to win a game in such a way in response to the controversial Jonny Bairstow dismissal. However, the England captain acknowledged that everything that occurred on the field complied with the regulations of the match.

"If the shoe was on the other foot I would have put more pressure on the umpires and asked whether they had called over and had a deep think about the whole spirit of the game. Would I want to win a game in that manner? The answer for me is no," he had said on Sunday.

Pat Cummins, the captain of Australia, believes Carey acted appropriately, particularly in light of the fact that Bairstow has previously been implicated in similar dismissals.
"If the shoe was on the other foot I would have put more pressure on the umpires and asked whether they had called over and had a deep think about the whole spirit of the game. Would I want to win a game in that manner? The answer for me is no," Cummins had said in the press conference after the match.
Trailing 0-2 at home to Australia, England are running out of time to prove 'Bazball' is truly the right way forward.
