There is three types of debt according to our scriptures. The first debt is Devrin, the second is Rishirin and the third loan is Pitrarin. We can get rid of the Pitrarin through Shraddha and it is also necessary to repay it as soon as possible. This is because the parents who have made various efforts for our health and happiness, we will have to pay off their debt in any way. Only then our life will be meaningful.
Whenever Shraddh comes, you can pay the Pitrarin. It does not cost much. To remove it, you will have to feed three or five Brahmins just once a year on their death anniversary by performing Shraadh with the water, sesame, kush and flowers etc. or by donating things in their name.
How to perform Shraddh:
Shradh is done on the date on which your ancestor died. Apart from this, on the same date in Ashwin Krishna Paksha, Shraddha, Tarpan, Gau and Brahmins have to be provided food. It gives happiness to our ancestors and we get results of it. During this time, if a woman does not have a son, then she can herself perform Shraddha of her husband.
Beginning and ending of Shraddh:
Shraddh begins with Bhadrapada Shukla Purnima. Shraddh goes on for 16 days and ends with the full moon. It lasts for 16 days, Shraddh is also known as 16 Shraddh.
