Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee have released the list of candidates for the assembly elections. The resentment of the leaders who have not been given tickets in this election has become overwhelming for the party. Annoyed at not getting the ticket, former TMC MLA Arabul Islam ransacked the office of his own party and destroyed it. At the same time, wooden chairs kept in the office were also set on fire.

This incident is from the Bhangar area of North 24 Parganas. Angered by not getting a ticket to Arabul Islam for the upcoming assembly elections, his supporters fiercely created a ruckus. The local TMC office reached the venue to stage a protest against the supporters. Arabul Islam was elected MLA from the same region in 2006 but lost in the last elections. He was defeated by Badal Jamadar of CPI (M).

When the supporters created a ruckus, Arabul Islam also weptly expressed the anguish of not giving the ticket to the TMC. He said that the people of the area will do what they ask them to do. He said that he is not alone, many loyal leaders of the party have been ignored. During the 2018 panchayat elections, Arabul Islam was also arrested by the Bengal Police.
