Kolkata: The fire of violence has once again flared up in West Bengal. Incidents of arson and stone pelting have come to light during the BJP's Ram Navami procession in Hooghly, in the state. Many leaders, including the BJP's National Vice President Dilip Ghosh, had reached the procession. Let us tell you that earlier there was violence in West Bengal on Ram Navami as well.

According to media reports, on Sunday, April 2, 2023, a shobha yatra was being taken out by the BJP in Hooghly regarding Ram Navami. When the yatra reached Kazipara, a Muslim-dominated area, there was a sudden pelting of stones. This led to a stampede-like situation on the spot. Several vehicles were set on fire by stone pelters. BJP national vice president Dilip Ghosh said, "There has been stone-pelting on the Shobha Yatra." Women and children were also involved in this incident. Many people have been injured in the sudden attack. I don't understand what the Bengal police are doing. Mamata Banerjee is only doing politics. Such cases are being reported every day in Bengal. "

Dilip Ghosh also said, "Even after the Howrah violence, the Mamta government is not taking any action. Stones are being hurled, and vehicles are being vandalised. If such incidents were responded to, what would happen? Stones are being thrown at those who participated in the yatra. Cars are being broken. There is an atmosphere of stampede. There is also the sound of bombs. At present, police have been deployed. But the situation still remains tense."

There have been continuous attacks on Ram Navami processions in West Bengal. A clash broke out between two communities during a Ram Navami procession in the Dalkhola area of Islampur town in North Dinajpur. One person was killed and five to six policemen were injured in clashes in the Muslim-dominated area. Bengal Police have said the cause of death of the young man was a heart attack. In Howrah, miscreants hurled stones at a Ram Navami procession and set several vehicles on fire after violence erupted. The incident took place in Shibpur, Howrah. In the video going viral on social media, people are seen throwing stones at the procession from rooftops. After this, there was violence in Howrah on Friday, March 31, 2023. The BJP is blaming the Mamta Banerjee government for all these violent incidents.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee has often been accused of Muslim appeasement, and there are reports of violence during most Hindu festivals like Durga Puja, Saraswati Puja, Ram Navami, and Hanuman Jayanti in the state. "I have no problem with Ramadan, but everyone's festivals are going on, Ramadan is going on, fasting is going on, so if there is an attack in a single Muslim area, I will not leave it." This statement of CM Mamta was also described by the opponents as giving a free hand to Muslims in advance.
