Amritsar: For the first time, Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann's statement has come to the fore after the violence between Shiv Sena supporters and Khalistanis in Patiala. Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday warned the rowdy elements who are trying to disturb the peace and said that anything can be sown on the fertile soil of the state, but not the seeds of hatred.
CM Mann said that no one involved in nefarious attempts to weaken the strong mutual brotherhood among the people will be spared. Addressing the people after attending the local Eidgah today on the occasion of Eid, Mann said that Eid is a festival that makes others feel sorrow and happiness. Bhagwant Mann further said that Eid is a symbol of brotherhood, peace and harmony. Announcing that all-around development of the district will be assured, he said that no stone will be left unturned for some essential basic development in the new district.
The previous government fulfilled its responsibility by giving Maler Kotla the status of a district only, but there is still a lot to be done to make it a district in the true sense. Priority will be given to the development of education and health infrastructure in the district. Assuring to meet the demands of local MLA Muhammad Jameel alias Rahman, he said that the historic city will not be allowed to run short of funds till the completion of development work.
