New Delhi: Farmers have been agitating for 10 months against agricultural laws brought by the Central Government last year. In a further boost to their movement, the farmers have announced the closure of India tomorrow on September 27. The bandh will be led by the United Kisan Morcha. Yesterday, Bharat Bandh by the farmer will start from 6 am and will continue till 4 pm.

Opposition parties are also supporting the Bharat Bandh called by the Same United Kisan Morcha. The bandh has received the support of opposition parties like Congress, CPI(M), NCP, Trinamool, RJD. Leader of opposition in Bihar Assembly and former deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav has also decided to participate in the nationwide strike. The All India Bank Officers Confederation has extended its support to the bandh on Monday.  It has appealed to the government to discuss their demands with the farmers and cancel three laws at the centre of the deadlock.

At the same time, the Federation said that its helpers and state units will join hands with the farmers across the country on Monday. The Union had questioned the Centre's strategy to double the income of donors by 2022, citing the report of NSS Land and Status Assessment of Livestock and Agricultural Families of Households, 2018-19 released early this month. The union said the average outstanding loan per agricultural family has increased to Rs 74,121 in 2018 from Rs 47,000 in 2013. The rising debt of agricultural households shows the deep ergonomic threat.
