Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP) has launched a new safety rating sticker for cars being sold in the country. With the help of this sticker, customers can easily get all the information related to the safety of their vehicle.

How will the sticker work?

When the crash test of a car is completed, this sticker will be pasted on that model. There will also be a QR code on this sticker, by scanning which customers can get complete information about the safety rating and features of the car.

Ongoing testing information

Many cars are being tested under BNCAP. This includes major vehicles like Tata Safari, Harrier, Nexon EV and Punch EV. These vehicles have been given 5 star rating on the basis of safety of adult and child passengers.

How to get information from QR code

Once the crash test is complete, the sticker will have a QR code. Customers can scan this QR code to see all the safety information of the vehicle. The sticker will include the name of the manufacturer, the model of the vehicle, the date of the crash test and the adult and child safety star rating.

crash test procedure

All cars sold in India are crash tested by NCAP. In this test, the car is hit with an object at a specified speed, and a dummy is used in the car.
