Bharat eMarket, the e-commerce platform of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), a retailer's organization, is about to launch within the next month amid lockdown and corona crisis in India. CAIT general secretary Pravin Khandelwal gave this information on Tuesday. Khandelwal said that work is going on very fast about this portal and registration of vendors has started. The organization revealed the name of the portal last week. From distributors, wholesalers, brands, retailers to small businesses can register for sale of goods through Bharat eMarket. Bharat eMarket will start with online sales of grocery and will later list other categories of goods on the platform.

This market place of CAIT will compete with the big companies like Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal and Reliance's upcoming JioMart. CAIT will launch this portal in partnership with the Government of India Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

After searching the goods on the portal, you will first get the option to buy goods from your five-kilometer area shop.

You will get the delivery of the goods within two hours.

You do not have to pay delivery charges for ordering goods from this portal.

Khandelwal stressed about this portal that it will be a fully indigenous portal and there will not be foreign investment of even one rupee in it.

CAIT will not charge sellers any commission or fee.

Khandelwal had earlier told that this platform has been started as a pilot project in Lucknow, Kanpur Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, and Bengaluru. According to him, this project has received tremendous response from retailers, distributors and customers. He said that services will be made better by using the lessons learned from the pilot project.
