Bharti Airtel announced on Thursday that it has acquired a strategic position in Aqilliz, a blockchain technology startup based in Singapore. The deal's financial specifics were not disclosed by the business. Atom is a patented hybrid blockchain platform developed by Aqilliz, which combines differential privacy with federated learning on a distributed digital ledger. In a quickly expanding digital economy that is becoming increasingly decentralised, this allows marketers to create secure and consent-based solutions to communicate with customers.
Bharti Airtel said in a statement that it plans to use Aqilliz's superior blockchain technology at scale across its rapidly increasing Adtech (Airtel Ads), Digital Entertainment (Wynk Music & Airtel Xstream), and Digital Marketplace (Airtel Thanks App) services. "At Airtel, we're spending a lot of time studying innovative technologies that will help India become more digitally connected in the future. We are also able to unlock new growth engines within Airtel as a result of our constant focus on innovation "CEO of Airtel Digital, Adarsh Nair.
"Blockchain technology is advancing, and we're seeing it used in sectors like adtech, the creator economy, and loyalty programmes. We are thrilled that Aqilliz has decided to join our Startup Accelerator Program and become a part of Airtel's digital innovation factory "he stated "We are incredibly excited to be a part of Airtel's digital innovation play and deliver this first-of-its-kind blockchain technology to India," Aqilliz founding CEO Gowthaman Ragothaman said in response to the deal.
