Bhiwandi building collapse: Maharashtra minister alleges the builder

Bhiwandi (Maharashtra) [India], July 25 (NT): Portion of a 3-storey building collapsed late at night in Bhiwandi, a 25 years old woman, named Khairunisaa Ismail Sayyad was killed where 4 others including one minor girl and a woman were injured badly, two men got several scratches.

Maharashtra Minister Eknath Shinde asserted that negligence of the builder as the cause of the incident as ANI reported.

The building is said to be nearly 7 years old and is allegedly an illegal construction on Survey no. 19 of Khoni village near Bhiwandi.

The exact cause of the fall has not revealed yet, some would say it happened due to excessive rainfall.

National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and fire brigade rescued 4 trapped under debris, and 5 more people could be there, the rescue operation is still on.

 As a matter of fact, almost the same incident happened last year in November when an unauthorised 4-storey Tahir Biznor building, situated in Navi Basti area ceased, killing around 7 people including women and children.

The Incident happened on the same day a ceiling collapsed in a shopping mall in Vashi, Navi Mumbai.

Raghuleela Mall, has been a major shopping site in Navi Mumbai area.

Many movies like Ghajini, Singh is kIng, Apna Sapna Money Money have been shot in the same mall.

Fortunately, there was not even a single casualty, since, it was a weekday afternoon, said the Mall coordinators.
