The famous singer of Bhojpuri film industry has been taken into custody by Bhopal police for allegedly cheating anganwadi workers of lakhs of rupees. The singer described himself as joint director of the Ministry of Women and Child Development. The singer had promised anganwadi workers to promote them on the supervisor's post. They had extorted money from anganwadi workers over it. The culprit has been identified as Mahendra Tiwari. He had forged the documents of Manoj Dwivedi, Joint Director, Ministry of Women and Child Development and presented himself.

According to police information, the criminal had described himself as joint director Mahendra Dwivedi. So that they can loot lakhs of rupees by taking the Anganwadi workers into their trap and luring them with promotions. The criminal had also given an account number to the Anganwadi workers in which the victims transferred money. Every time the money was received, the criminal would change his mobile number. The account in which the money was transferred belongs to Allahabad resident Ankit Mishra.

Police have also taken him into custody. Along with collecting money, Ankit Mishra also helped in making fake documents of criminal Mahendra Tiwari. The criminal has admitted to cheating 7 Anganwadi workers in Madhya Pradesh. Police have recovered three lakh cash, one laptop, three mobile phones, one fake Aadhaar card, 4 SIM cards from the culprit.
