Bhopal: Recently, in Kolar police have registered a case under sections of cheating on the accused of marrying a 23-year-old Hindu girl in Dharam in Bhopal. After the matter came to light today, Home Minister Narottam Mishra said, 'The matter is being investigated. If the case turns out to be a love jihad, the case will be tried under the new law.' On the other hand, if we agree with the law experts about this, then they say that this is not possible.

He said that under the law that happens at the time of the incident, the case is made and the new law is applicable to the crime that takes place. Pankaj Dubey, Senior Advocate of the High Court on the matter, said, "As per the law, an FIR is done only under the law which runs at the time of the crime or incident." It contains the same clauses, which are in its provisions till that time. If a new law is enacted, then it applies after its gazette notification. Only after its implementation, the incidents and crimes that will happen will come under the ambit of its new law. The old offences will run according to the old law only.

What is the matter- Actually, Kolar police say that a wedding was reported two days ago in a temple near the river in Kolar. During this time people had said that a Muslim boy is marrying a Hindu girl by hiding information. The police then reached the spot and asked for the boy's I-card for investigation. It was then revealed in the investigation that the name of the accused is Mohammad Rafiq. He is 28 years old. He persuaded the girl to get married in a bluff.
