The biggest cricket tournmaent, ICC World Cup is starting from May 30 in England and Wales. Bhuvneshwar Kumae who is a key member of the Indian cricket team from past few years, is going to play his second World Cup. Bhuvneshwar who plied trade for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), was a mediocre performer this year with 13 wickets in 15 games. There has been a lot of talks before the IPL that after playing the nearly two-month-long tournament, players will get tired and this will affect their performance in the upcoming World Cup. But Bhuvneshwar has given a statement in contrast to this fact.
In an Interview with Cricbuzz, Th pacer said that IPL has given a necessary practice to the players ahead of the mega event. He said, “IPL has definitely given players the much-needed match practice before the World Cup. Once you have wickets and runs under your belt, the confidence levels automatically go up. For me, it was important to be in a good rhythm and be among wickets which I was able to do for Sunrisers Hyderabad.”
Bhuvneshwar marked his one-day international debut in 2012 against Pakistan in Chennai and picked up 2 wickets and conceded just 27 runs at an economy of 3.0 in 9 overs. He has played 105 ODI matches and has 118 wickets to his name.
