As Ukraine's battle with Russia drags on, US President Joe Biden stated on Tuesday that the US is helping Ukraine with "more advanced rocket systems and bombs."
According to reports, Biden stated in a New York Times op-ed that the US wants to see "a democratic, independent, sovereign, and prosperous Ukraine with the ability to deter and protect itself against further aggression." "They will be able to more precisely strike key targets on the battlefield in Ukraine," he added of the fresh armaments shipment.
Meanwhile, a senior administration official indicated that on Wednesday (local time), the US will present the eleventh security aid package for Ukraine, which will include High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS).
"The 11th tranche of security assistance under the presidential drawdown authority will be announced tomorrow. Longer-range systems, such as HIMARS, and bombs will be included in the package, allowing the Ukrainians to hit targets more precisely on the battlefield", according to Sputnik, the official stated.
The US does not want a war between NATO and Russia, according to the official, and wants the continuing situation in Ukraine to end as soon as feasible.
