PARIS — U.S. President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will visit Paris on June 8 to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron. This marks Biden's first state visit to France, as announced by the French presidency on Thursday.

Before their meeting, President Biden will attend the 80th anniversary commemorations of the Normandy D-Day landings on June 6.

During their discussions, Biden and Macron will focus on their continued support for Ukraine and explore ways to enhance cooperation in areas such as the economy, space exploration, and nuclear energy, according to the French presidency.

Although Biden and Macron have differing views on several significant issues, including European self-reliance, they have built a notable level of trust. Despite the 35-year age difference and some policy disagreements, both leaders are committed to working together for mutual benefit.
