How important is the role of Indian diaspora in the election of the American President, it is clear from the fact that large survey agencies of the country are doing a separate survey on Indian-Americans. A survey has revealed that Republican candidate Donald Trump's Indian vote bank has been breached as the Indian-American majority is supporting Democrat candidate Joe Biden.
In the survey released on Wednesday, it has been found that 66 per cent of the people of the Indian-American community are in favour of Joe Biden while only 28 per cent consider Donald Trump as their leader. Six per cent of the people did not support any of the candidates. Indian diaspora, a non-profit organization of Indian leaders and the Asian American Pacific Islanders, has released this joint report on the attitude of Indian-American voters.
It was found in the report that despite playing a key role in bilateral relations with India recently, Trump is not able to woo the Indians in his election campaign. However, Trump has held onto the Indian community as compared to 2016 as Trump had only 16 per cent of voters in favour at the time, while rival Hillary Clinton was supported by 77 per cent of Indian-Americans. The highest-earning Indian-Americans have also given the donations to both political parties. A quarter of the people say that they have given $3 million donation this year to the candidate, political party or any other campaign. It is now to see who wins in this election.
