Washington: According to a survey performed by a media outlet, the majority of US federal employees disagree with President Joe Biden's Covid-19 vaccination mandate announced in September. In a study done by the Government Business Council (GBC), the research arm of media outlet Government Executive, 53 percent of respondents strongly or somewhat disagreed with the vaccine mandate, while 44 percent strongly or somewhat agreed.

According to sources, the GBC issued the survey to readers of Atlantic Media's Government Executive and Defense One between October 27 and November 2, and received 3,186 responses. All federal personnel must get vaccinated by November 22nd, according to the President's directive. People who refuse to be vaccinated and whose exemption requests are denied would face "progressive discipline, up to termination from the federal service," according to the government's business news daily in Washington, D.C.

Biden said on September 9 that the Department of Labor is working on an emergency rule that will compel all firms with 100 or more employees to have their personnel vaccinated or tested once a week. The rule was developed by the Labor Department's Occupational Safety and Health Administration and was technically known as an emergency interim standard (OSHA).
