At Samrang in the Udalguri district, the 41st biennial conference of the Udalguri district committee of the All Assam Gorkha Students' Union (AAGSU) came to a close. Puspadhar Sarma, a former student leader and the Principal of Udalguri H S School, opened the delegates' session of the students' union. He urged the kids to seek for better community togetherness and educational awareness. Baidyanath Upadhyaya, a well-known journalist, also spoke to the students.
He encouraged them to contribute to a better society. For the following term, the delegates chose Ram Chhetri as president and Gopal Dhakal as general secretary. Purna Kirat Rai, the head of the Assam Gorkha Sammelan's Udalguri district committee, opened the crowded open session.
Somraj Sonar presided over the gathering, and Sanjeev Khatiwada, the general secretary of the Udalguri district Gorkha Students' Union, gave guest introductions. All Assam Gorkha Students' Union representatives spoke at the gathering, as did BTR Deputy Chief Gobinda Chandra Basumatari and Mangaldai MP Dilip Kumar Saikia. Thousands of people flocked to the event from all across the Udalguri area.
