Talking about the upcoming film, Sircar told a leading daily, “Juhi and I have been working on this script for a while now. We all know whenever she comes up with a story, it has her trademark quirk. As soon as I read it, I shared it with Mr Bachchan and Ayushmann at the same time.”
“I thought it would take some time to develop and take it forward, but everyone was so enthusiastic to work on this script, they figured out their dates and here we are, planning to release the film this year itself,” he added.
He further shed some light on the film titled and said that it was taken from a colloquial term in the Uttar Pradesh capital. Traditionally, Gulabo and Sitabo are glove puppet characters made of papier-mache and who are dressed in colourful clothes and trinkets, hailed from North Indian state.
The story of the film that borrows the title from their names, Sitabo is the worn-out, overworked wife of a man, while Gulabo is his enticing mistress.
Meanwhile, Ayushmann has begun filming for Amar Kaushik’s Bala. On the other hand, Big B will be seen in the upcoming movie, Chehre, directed by Rumi Jaffrey, co-starring Emraan Hashmi.
