In the midst of the Russia-Ukraine War, companies from western countries are closing their trade with Russia and Ukraine. After a series of economic sanctions imposed on Russia, many companies have made a review of their business in the country and announced the closure of businesses or the temporary closure of services. Meanwhile, Mastercard and Visa have announced the suspension of their operations in Russia. This is a big blow to Russia's financial system.

On Saturday, MasterCard said MasterCard, issued by a Russian bank, will no longer support its network. At the same time, cards issued in any other country outside Of Russia will not work in a Russian store or ATM. MasterCard said in a statement, "We do not take this decision lightly," the company said, adding that the decision was taken after discussions with the people, partners and governments.

Visa said it was working closely with its clients and partners to close all visa transactions in Russia in the coming days. Visa's chairman and chief executive officer, Al Kelly, said in a statement: "We were compelled to make this decision after Russia's attack on Ukraine without any provocation and the many unacceptable developments that have emerged." Many other countries around the world have increased financial pressure on Russia and its citizens over the attack on Ukraine. Kelly said, "Because of this war and the current risks posed to peace and stability, we have responded to our values."
