Ukraine's President Volodimir Zelenskyy, who is fighting for the survival of his country, has made an "emotional" request to the US to send more fighter jets and reduce oil imports from Russia so that his country can counter Russian military action. Zelenskyy told U.S. lawmakers in a personal video call on Saturday that they might be seeing him alive for the last time. Ukraine's president is present in the capital Kyiv, to the north of which there is a gathering of Russian armoured troops.

Zelenskyy, who is seen with the Flag of Ukraine in the background of the white wall in the green shirt of the same army, said Ukraine needs to protect its airspace and this could only happen either by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) imposing a flight ban area or by the dispatch of more fighter jets. For days, Zelenskyy has been demanding a flight ban, but NATO has been refusing to do so and says such a move could escalate a war with Russia.

Zelenskyy held talks with 300 U.S. lawmakers and their staff for about an hour, at a time when Russian bombings of Ukrainian cities continue and many more have been besieged by them, while 1.4 million Ukrainians have taken refuge in neighbouring countries. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said, "President Zelenskyy has pleaded out of desperation," adding that Zelenskyy wants the U.S. to send planes from Eastern European partners, Schumer said, "I'll do everything I can to assist the administration in their transfer." There is also a propaganda war going on over the Russia-Ukraine war. The picture that the Western media is presenting of this war has almost dominated the entire world. Russia has stood in the dock in this communication war. The sympathy of the whole world with Ukraine has arisen. Russian embassies in all the countries are trying to clear the situation. It is also denying the fact that targeted attacks are being carried out on civilian targets. As far as the Russia-Ukraine war is concerned, the option to stop this war was available to all the major countries, including the United States, Europe, apart from these two countries themselves, but no one used that option.
