Koderma: Once again the power crisis in Jharkhand may deepen. Due to lack of coal, continuous power generation is being affected from Koderma Thermal Power Plant and instead of 500-500 MW from two units of the plant, 280 to 320 MW of electricity is being produced. In fact, 3 to 4 rakes of coal i.e. about 14 thousand metric tons of coal are required daily to run both the units of the plant, but for the last few days, only one or two rakes of coal are supplied to this thermal power plant of Koderma. is happening. Due to which the stock of coal in the plant has also reduced considerably and only one day's stock is left with the plant.

The production of coal has also decreased due to the flooding of coal mines during the rainy season. Due to this, the power plant is suffering. 1000 MW of electricity is produced from this power plant, out of which 600 MW is given to the Jharkhand government according to the MoU, but for the past few days even 600 MW of power is not being generated from this power plant. Due to this, the problem of power cut has also increased in other districts including Koderma.

At the same time, if the shortage of coal is not removed soon, then the power crisis may deepen. At present, 10 per cent of imported coal is also being used for power generation in this power plant to overcome the shortage of coal, but it is very expensive. NK Choudhary, Chief Engineer, Koderma Thermal Power Plant, said that due to many reasons, the plant management is facing a shortage of coal and has to procure coal by putting a lot of effort.
