Russia and Ukraine have been waging a fierce war for a week. The Russian army is rapidly advancing, occupying the major cities of Ukraine. At the same time, western countries and global sports bodies are also announcing one ban after another on Russia and its players. The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has banned players from Russia and Belarus from participating in the Winter Paralympic Games, which are scheduled to begin in Beijing from Friday.

IPC President Andrew Parson changed his Wednesday's decision after the executive meeting held today, informing about the ban on players from both countries. However, he had said 24 hours ago that players from Russia and Belarus would be able to participate in the competition without using their country's flag, identity and colour.

But now he has spoken about the fact that after the current situation and heavy pressure from the member countries, he had to change his decision and the Winter Paralympic Games are scheduled to be held in Beijing from March 4 to March 13. About 70 Russian players were expected to take part in it who have been completely banned now.
