Covid 19 has shaken the backbone of the business worldwide. Disney is one of the companies consistently incurring losses. Disney shared its business figures for the first quarter of 2020. According to these figures, Disney lost about $ 1 billion (Rs 76 billion) in the first quarter. The loss figure for all the regions together reaches 1.4 billion dollars (more than 1 trillion rupees). The loss has been due to Disney's theme parks, retail stores, TV operations to various event closures and movie releases being halted.

This situation came at a time when there was a change in the leadership of Disney. According to Bob Iger, the current president and chief executive of The Walt Disney Company, "Nobody expected the situation we are facing right now. We have full confidence in our ability that we will overcome this difficult situation." However, according to some experts, a worse time is yet to come.

The figures of the third and fourth quarter can be even more frightening than the first quarter. When the permission to open the theme park will be obtained, even then there will be a huge decline in the number of people. Meanwhile, in view of the situation under control in China, Disney is considering opening its Shanghai Disneyland from May 11. Bob Chapeck, CEO of the Walt Disney Company, said that guests and employees are required to wear masks during this time. He told that around 80 thousand people reach the theme park which was closed in January every day. However, when it is reopened, then only 24 thousand people will be able to come here in the initial weeks.
