New Delhi: Meta is about to launch an end-to-end encryption rollout for its app Facebook's Messenger app. This end-to-end encryption is to be applied to voice and video calls. The company's CEO Mark Zuckerberg himself made an announcement on Facebook. Not only that, but the company had also announced that there was going to be an opt-in for group chat and group audio and video calls as well as end-to-end encryption. Earlier, the feature was launched only for text chatting.

The end-to-end encryption feature has already been applied to the company's second app WHATSAPP. WhatsApp has also ended encrypting its backups to Google Drive or other locations. Now it's going to be brought to Facebook Messenger as well. Mark Zuckerberg wrote on Facebook that he is very happy to implement encryption in detail.

What is End to end encryption: The End to end encryption feature is currently being used in WhatsApp Messenger, so it can only be understood by the example of WHATSAPP. According to information in the WHATSAPP's FAQ, the End to End Encryption feature has ensured that messages and calls remain between you and your contacts. No one else, even WhatsApp will be able to read, hear and see them. In easy language, end-to-end encryption is doing something that messages are protected from a digital lock that requires a digital key to view or listens to before being sent that only the person who receives the message has. No one will be able to see, read or hear these messages or calls in between. It all happens automatically. You don't need to turn on a setting to protect your message.'
