India is busy hosting the International Olympic Committee (IOC) season in Mumbai in the coming year. India has also successfully won the bid for the 139th season of the IOC. This is a historic occasion as India has not hosted the IOC season since the season held in New Delhi in 1983. In the session, IOC members have been in the news on important topics such as the Olympic Charter and the choice of cities to host the Olympics. The choice of the host country for the 2030 Winter Olympics and setting the sports schedule for the 2028 Summer Olympics are going to be on the agenda of this season.
Sports Minister Anurag Thakur tweeted, "The International Olympic Committee session is taking place in the coming year, which is a historic moment. The game has made a lot of progress in India in recent years. I am excited and proud to be part of the Indian delegation for this historic occasion." The International Olympic Committee meeting is scheduled to be held in May-June at the 'Jio World Convention Centre' in Mumbai. In the 2023 vote to host this year's meeting, India also got 75 of the 76 valid votes. The overwhelming majority have said the moment of hosting.
While leading the Indian delegation, Nita Ambani had strongly advocated for the upcoming meeting of the IOC to be held in India. She told IOC members, "It is our dream to bring youth Olympics and Olympic games to India in the future. We want the youth of India, the youngest country in the world, to feel the grandeur and grandeur of the Olympics. We want to further strengthen this partnership."
