New Delhi: The price of the Covishield vaccine has been reduced by less than half. Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawalla said that the Serum Institute of India has decided to reduce the price of the Covisheild vaccine from Rs 600 to Rs 225 for private hospitals.

In the larger public interest, the Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech have decided to reduce the price of their vaccine to Rs 220 with GST for booster doses for all above 18 years of age. Now, Covisheild, Covaxin and Covovax can be taken up with the GST at Rs 220 from private vaccine centres and hospitals.
