Ranchi: Persons involved in the movement for a separate Jharkhand state created 22 years ago by dividing Bihar, will be given a pension of Rs 3 to 7 thousand. Chief Minister Hemant Soren has released a new form for identification of eligible pensioners. Soren said on the occasion that the Jharkhand movement was no less than a freedom struggle.
Although the demand for making Jharkhand a separate state was made even before independence, but after a lot of struggle and agitation, on 15 November 2000, the NDA government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee made Jharkhand a separate state. Chief Minister Hemant Soren's father and former Chief Minister Shibu Soren played an important role in the Jharkhand movement. Now the Hemant Soren government has intensified the work of giving pension to the people involved in the movement for the formation of a separate state. Chief Minister Soren has released the new application form for pension. He says that his government also wants to give respect and pension to the last person involved in the fight for a separate state. Since the separation of the state, there is talk of the identity of the agitators, but till now justice could not be done to them. The same 10-10 people involved in the Jharkhand movement from all the 24 districts of Jharkhand were called in the launch program of the new application form, but there was a crowd in it. Chief Minister Soren also apologized for the lack of space at the venue.
Big announcement for the agitators:-
* Many facilities will be given to Jharkhand agitators. Police firing at the time of agitation or a member of the dependent family of the deceased or disabled agitator in jail in the fourth category.
* Job in the third or fourth category to a dependent of other workers.
* Pension to a dependent of the agitator on death in jail.
* 3500 per month pension to those who are in jail for less than three months.
* 5 thousand rupees pension for three months to 6 months in jail.
* 7 thousand per month pension for being in jail for more than 6 months.
