One of the most renowned actresses in the Bengali Industry Sonali Chakraborty, the wife of actor Shankar Chakraborty passes away. The actress breathed her last on Monday morning at a private hospital in Kolkata. She was a popular face in Bengali TV and films and worked in programmes like Nachni, Gaatchora and others.
As per information, Sonali was suffering from various ailments and had a cardiac arrest at a private hospital today in Kolkata. She was ailing in the hospital since early this year and was not keeping well. Sonali Chakraborty died in a private hospital early morning on Monday. Due to her ill health, she stopped featuring in TV shows or movies of late.
Sonali Chakroborty was suffering from physical ailments for a long time. She had to be admitted to the hospital time and again. Her husband Shankar Chakraborty, also confirmed the same in an interview. The last rites of the actress will be performed in Kolkata on Monday. The West Bengal Motion Picture Artists’ Forum expressed grief at the news of the death of the veteran actress and said Sonali's last rites will be held at Keoratola Crematorium at 10:30am
On the work front Shankar Chakraborty, Sonali was a well-known face in TV serials and also acted in several movies. Her performance in Rachana Banerjee and Ferdous Ahmed-starrer Har Jeet (2002) was praised. Sonali also played a key role in Bandhan (2004) alongside Jeet and Koel Mallick. Sonali curtailed the number of her appearances on both small and big screens due to health issues.
