Bollywood actress Payal Rohatgi has been arrested by the Rajasthan Police on Sunday for making lewd remarks on Motilal Nehru, father of the country's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Congress leader Shashi Tharoor tweeted on Payal saying that it is not sensible to arrest him. Former Contestant Koena Mitra of Bigg Boss has also jumped into this whole controversy and has spoken fiercely while targeting the Congress.

Shashi Tharoor wrote on Twitter,There’s little doubt that the comments of @Payal_Rohatgi were tasteless &false, typical Sanghi drivel circulated on @whatsapp. But to arrest her is unwise: upholding freedom of expression means allowing her to say stupid things w’out police getting involved. She shd be released.'

In this case, M.P. Gupta of Bundi, Rajasthan has said that a complaint was filed against Payal Rohatgi on October 10 after a controversial video.

M. Gupta said, 'A case was registered against Payal Rohatgi under Section 504, 505 of IPC and IT Act. We sent a notice to Payal Rohatgi many times, but they did not respond to any notice. He gave himself about his arrest through Payal's Twitter. Payal wrote in the tweet- 'I have been arrested by Rajasthan Police for sharing a video on Motilal Nehru. I made that video with information from Google. The freedom to speak is a joke. In this tweet, he has tagged the official Twitter account of Rajasthan Police, PMO, Home Ministry.

For information, let us know that Payal shared a controversial video on his Twitter account some time ago. In which Payal had commented on Motilal Nehru, the freedom fighter and father of the country's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. With this, Payal made objectionable statements linking Motilal's marriage with the issue of triple talaq. After which the police arrested him from Ahmedabad. In this regard, SP Mamta Gupta said, a case has been registered against Payal Rohatgi.
