Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has waged a fight against the communal evils of the society. Child marriage and dowry practice areTwo big evils in the society, which are becoming a canker. CM Nitish Kumar is fighting against all these evils and is making people aware. Significantly, dowry practice is a major social evil that needs to be eradicated. According to the National Crime Records Bureau data for the year 2015, Bihar is ranked 26th in the national crime rate at the national level, but Bihar ranks second in the country, after neighboring Uttar Pradesh, in dowry-related cases.

This will result in the re-creation of the human chain on January 21, 2018, in the whole of Bihar. The state government is expecting active public participation from corner to corner of the state in the human chain initiative. According to officials, a group had been formed to create awareness among people who live in rural areas.

This will be the next human chain in Bihar as The first one was organized exactly a year ago in support of the liquor ban in which according to Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar over four crore people took part.

Chief secretary Anjani Kumar Singh issued guidelines to all district magistrates and superintendents of police to mark down locations where the human chain will be formed.

Government officials and employees, including school teachers, have also been asked to take part in the campaign in opposition to child marriage and dowry.

The campaign against dowry and child marriage was launched in Bihar on October 2, 2017. According to JD (U) cream of the crops, about 1,500 people had drawn together in Patna when CM Nitish Kumar had called for a massive drive against the social evil.
