Patna: The body of Afsar (37) was recovered by the Jagdishpur police from the riverbank of Manmodhachak village in Jagdishpur late Saturday. The family accused of killing the young man in mob lynching. Some people and family of Meeranchak village have told the police that the young man was coming back from his mother-in-law's house in the evening.
Meanwhile, some people of Chakfatma and Manmohadchak villages near the railway line spread the rumor of the child being stolen and beaten to death. After killing, the young man's body was thrown on the river. City SP SK Saroj and Law and Order DSP Nesar Ahmad Shah reached the spot and investigated the matter as soon as the incident was received.
Station Head Sanjay Kumar Satyarthi has said that the cause of the incident has not been clearly known. Some people say that the incident was carried out on charges of child theft. Strict action will be taken against the accused by registering an FIR on the statement of family members. The police is investigating several aspects in this case. The process of filing an FIR was going on till the news was written. Police have rushed the body for post-mortem.
