The flood situation has worsened in Bihar’s capital city. As per the reports, water from the river Ganga entered into some more localities on Friday, and still, the situation may get worse with continuous rise in level.

As per the IANS report, the water level in river Ganga has increased in the last 24 hours. The areas leading to a flood situation include the Didarganj region located on the eastern side of Patna, Sonama panchayat, Khaspur, Jethuli, and Punadih panchayat, which are the most affected places. In addition, the report added that the residents of these villages were seen using boats to buy essential daily needs. Villagers willing in the affected areas are saying, "Patna Sahib MP Ravi Shankar Prasad visited our village on Thursday but he did not provide any assurance to facilitate the delivery of food and other domestic items. But besides him, no other public representatives have visited the flood-hit areas of the region." Radhe Shyam Sharma, a resident of Sonama panchayat said that the supply of electricity in this region has snapped for the last few days. The residents of these villages are facing a huge shortage of drinking water and even the state government is not distributing chlorine tablets to purify the water. "We immediately need government assistance for survival. More than 35,000 people have been affected by the floods," Sharma said.

The state’s disaster management authorities revealed that over 28 districts have been affected by floods in north and central Bihar this season, which also includes Patna.
