Patna: At least 40 people died after consuming spurious liquor in Bihar's Chhapra district. While the administration is silent in this whole incident, there is talk among the locals that the illegal spirit kept in the police station was stolen and sold to the liquor traders, due to which people died drinking poisonous liquor.
According to the news received, there is a discussion among the people of the village that a few months ago, Mashrak police had seized a large quantity of illegal spirit. One of the drums, which was filled with 210 liters of spirit, disappeared from the police station premises and was sold. The villagers say that the watchman of Mashrak police station stole this drum and sold it to the liquor mafia. After that, these liquor traders prepared poisonous liquor from this spirit, which led to the death of so many people. However, none of the villagers are speaking openly about this.
At the same time, looking at the video that has been found, it seems that a drum is missing from the line of drums kept in the Mashrak police station premises, whose testimony is giving a drum-shaped round circle on the ground and the grass suppressed in the circle. However, when asked about the incident, the Saran superintendent of police called it a rumor. He said that such things are being spread to divert the direction of the investigation. At the same time, SIT has been formed to investigate the poisonous liquor case. An additional SP will lead this team. Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar told the media that a total of 31 police officers have been included in the SIT. It also includes three DSP-level officers.
