Patna: JDU MP Baidyanath Prasad Mahato from Valmiki Nagar in Bihar died today i.e. on Saturday, 29 February 2020. At the same time, he had trouble breathing for a long time. For which he was admitted to the Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi a few days ago. The state general secretary of the party and former MLA of Lauria Pradeep Singh has also confirmed this.

MP from Bihar and Union Minister Nityanand Rai expressed his grief over the death of Baidyanath Mahato. He wrote, Sad news has been received about the sudden demise of JDU MP Shri Baidyanath Prasad Mahato Ji from Valmiki Nagar. In a humble tribute to the departed soul, I pray to God to support his family in this hour of grief. JDU candidate Baidyanath Prasad Mahato won the Valmiki Nagar seat by 3,54,616 votes. Mahato received a total of 6,02,660 votes. Congress candidate Shashwat Kedar got 2,48,044 votes in second place.

MLA from the late Mahto Nautan assembly constituency, who started his career as a cashier in the District Cooperative Bank, Nitish Kumar became the Rural Development Minister of the state during the first Chief Minister. However, during the 2014 election, when the alliance between the BJP and JDU broke down, he had to face defeat at the hands of BJP candidate Satish Chandra Dubey.
