Amidst reports of lockdown, Nitish government took a big decision

Patna: The coronavirus is taking a huge turn in Bihar. More than 5,000 active cases have been reported so far while two patients died at AIIMS on Thursday. Amidst the growing fury of the transition, the Nitish government issued several guidelines including a night curfew, which came into effect from Thursday. Now shops are opening only till 8 p.m. Meanwhile, on Thursday itself, the Bihar government changed the guidelines and took a decisive decision on schools, colleges and educational institutions. In Bihar, amid the corona crisis, the government changed the guidelines and announced the closure of schools, colleges, hostels, coaching institutes. All schools, colleges, coaching, educational training institutes, their hostels in the State have been closed till 21st January with immediate effect. Earlier, only 8th standard schools were closed. However, the government has approved the opening of all these schools, colleges, coaching centres with 50 per cent of the employees. Online teaching work can be done. This means that now the class of children up to the 12th standard in Bihar will run online. Examinations conducted by the Central and State Governments will also be conducted. Examinations of school boards can also be conducted. The special branch of the home department issued the order late on Thursday evening.

Earlier, a number of decisions were taken at a meeting of the Disaster Management Group chaired by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday. As per the new guidelines, shops in the state will now be able to open only by 8 pm. Night curfew will be maintained from 10 pm to 5 am. 50 persons will be allowed to attend the wedding ceremony. As per the new guidelines, only 20 people will be able to attend the funeral. 50 people can attend public functions. These guidelines are for 21st January. Government and private offices will function with 50 per cent attendance. Outsiders will be prohibited from entering government and non-governmental institutions. Only 50 per cent of the capacity of the restaurants will be ordered to be accommodated. Shopping malls, swimming pools, gyms, cinema halls will remain closed. Religious places will also remain closed till January 21. Only priests will be able to worship in temples.
