Hajipur: Bihar Minority Welfare Minister Jama Khan said in a statement on Friday that his ancestors were Hindus. Even today, many of his family members are Hindu Rajputs. He said that our traditions had converted to Islam, so we became Muslims today. He even said that even today his kinship continues in the Hindu families of his family. However, they consider it wrong to forcibly convert someone.

Talking to reporters in Hajipur, Bihar, the State Minority Welfare Minister said that if one changes one's religion of his own free will, it is okay. His will should be respected, but it should not be forced. Jama Khan further said that if someone forcibly converts someone's religion, the government should intervene. If such an attempt takes place in Bihar, the State Government will not allow it. Yet if someone does that he is not going to escape, the law will punish him severely.

Minister Jama Khan further said that no one can be forcibly converted. Even if someone puts a pistol on my head, I won't change my religion. No man will forcibly change religion. It is then a matter of complete heart and faith.
