Patna: As panchayat elections in Bihar approaching, the state government has stepped up preparations. The administration is continuously issuing instructions to ensure the peaceful conduct of elections. The State Election Commission has also issued guidelines for submission of necessary documents along with nomination papers for candidates contesting panchayat elections in the state.

The same candidates will have to give a declaration of oath relating to punishment by a competent court or a criminal case filed in a court. The Election Commission has also asked for information about the candidates as affidavits in the form 'A' 3 and Form 'B' 3. Candidates seeking unreserved posts and nomination fee-related benefits for SCs, STs, Backward Classes will have to submit an original copy of the certificate issued by the District, Divisional, Block, and Zone along with nomination papers.

Along with the same nomination papers, the Commission has also ordered the candidates to carry the name deposited in the treasury and the challan of the direction fee. According to a report received from the block office, nomination papers can be canceled if any of the documents fixed by the State Election Commission are less than those who are contesting from various posts.
