bihar: In a tragic turn of events, the 12506 Northeast Express derailed near Raghunathpur station in Bihar, causing four fatalities and injuring around 80 passengers. The derailment occurred at approximately 9:50 pm, as the train was en route from Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi to Kamakhya Junction in Guwahati.

The incident unfolded shortly after the train had left Buxar station and was about 40 kilometers away from Buxar and 160 kilometers from Patna. Six coaches of the North East Express were affected, resulting in multiple injuries to passengers on board.

Bihar Train Accident Update: Hospitals in Patna on High Alert

Following the derailment of the North East Express, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav has put all hospitals in Patna, including AIIMS and IGIMS, on high alert. The primary focus of the ongoing rescue operation is to save lives, as four casualties have been confirmed, and 21 coaches have derailed. A thorough investigation will be launched once the rescue mission concludes, as stated by Tarun Prakash, the General Manager of ECR.
