Patna: Due to the active cyclonic circulation in many parts of the country as well as in Bihar, the mood of the weather changed on Thursday. In many districts of Bihar including Patna, dusty thunderstorm accompanied by a strong wind, and after that, there was heavy rain. Not only this but hailstorms also occurred at some places due to which the crops were severely damaged. Simultaneously, a wall fell in Bhagalpur, Khagaria and one each in Nawada and Bhagalpur districts, and one person died after a tree collapsed in Munger.

During this time, mango, maize and litchi crops have suffered more due to rain.  Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed deep condolences on the death of one girl child in Nawada and one in Bhagalpur. Recently, the Chief Minister said that "In this hour of disaster, they are with the affected families and the Chief Minister has given instructions to give ex-gratia grant of Rs. Four lakh each to the families of the deceased girls immediately".

Nawada and Nalanda districts of Bihar, there was heavy rains as well as hailstorms in many districts including Siwan, Nawanda and this unseasonal rain caused more damage to the crops. In fact, the wheat crop in these districts has suffered more and the mango and litchi crops have also been destroyed. However, a few days ago, the Meteorological Department had issued an alert that light rain may occur in the entire state including Patna on Thursday. During that time, the department had said that the entire state can remain cloudy and it may rain in many districts. In Patna, there was rain with strong wind on Wednesday night.
