Patna: Several states of the country are receiving heavy rains meanwhile Bihar is receiving more than the average rainfall. The monsoon has been spectacular here. Rainfall in 113 days has surpassed the average record. This led to 1017.6 mm rainfall, which is six per cent higher than the average. While there are still 9 more days left.

On the other hand, the humidity coming from the Bay of Bengal to Bihar is likely to bring 10 mm rainfall in the last 9 days due to cyclonic winds. According to the MET department, the rainfall record in 2021 is estimated to be 65 per cent lower than last year's 2020. There are many districts of Bihar where there was less rainfall. In 2021, 18 districts including Patna, Munger, Sheikhpura recorded below-average rainfall. While 19 cities received below-average rainfall in 2020. West Champaran recorded the highest rainfall due to this monsoon. This led to 1996.5 mm rainfall in West Champaran which is 774 mm more than normal.

Purnia received the lowest rainfall of 805 mm, which is 573.1 mm below normal. This led to 779 mm rainfall in Patna, which is 88.7 mm below normal. More than 1,000 mm of rainfall was recorded in 14 cities. The monsoon session, from June 1 to September 21, has stabilized the maximum temperature to be around 34 degrees and the minimum temperature around 26 degrees due to rain. However, Patna has recorded eight times the day's mercury below 30 degrees. Patna recorded a maximum temperature of 33.8 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 26.2 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
