Patna: According to estimates, heavy rainfall in many parts of Kerala continued on Sunday. Due to which, the flood situation in the lower areas of the state flourished. During this time, 17 more people died in the Idukki landslide and the number of people who died in the accident has increased to 43. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in Kasargod, Kannur, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Malappuram and Alappuzha districts. The IMD has issued a red alert, predicting 20 cm of rainfall in these districts within 24 hours. However, it is expected that by Tuesday, the pace of rainfall will be reduced.

Dams opened up deteriorating situation: A campaign has been started to evacuate those buried in the landslide at Pettimudi near Rajamala. The bodies of 17 more people have been removed on Sunday. The special thing is that after heavy rains, the NDRF and fire ministry have started relief and rescue operations. Due to heavy rains and opening of various dams, the water level of the rivers of central Kerala is increasing, due to which the flood situation is getting worse. A taxi driver was swept away in the flood in Manarkad area of Kottayam district. His body has been recovered.

Difficulties due to floods in Bihar: According to the information, the situation is becoming serious due to flood in other states of the country. In Bihar, 87 thousand more people have been affected by the floods, with this the figure of flood affected people in the state has gone up to about 74 lakhs. Flood has been affected in 1232 panchayat areas of 125 blocks of 16 districts of the state. So far, 5.08 lakh people have been rescued from the flood affected areas. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the low pressure area in most places of Odisha, heavy rains can occur for the next 5 days. The state government has issued an alert to the district administration.
