Beijing: The United States of America (USA) Congress has passed a bill to stop Chinese officers from detaining U-Iguer Muslims. The US House of Representatives on Wednesday sent a bill to President Donald Trump at the White House to veto or sign the law, calling for a ban on Chinese officials responsible for the persecution of Uygur Muslims.

The House of Representatives on Wednesday passed a bill calling for sanctions against Chinese authorities for detaining and torturing Uygur Muslims in China's western region of Xinjiang. This may further deepen tensions between the US and China. There was only one vote against this act. Apart from this, all the votes fell in support of this bill. The tally for this was 413-1. The Senate unanimously passed the bill. This has now also put pressure on Donald Trump to impose human rights restrictions on China.

Republicans said that they hope that they will sign the bill. However, the White House has not yet indicated whether he will do so. The bill calls for sanctions against those responsible for the repression of Uygurs and other Muslim groups in China's Xinjiang province. The United Nations estimates that more than a million Muslims have been detained in the camps. At the same time, Republican Senator Marco Rubio has said that, 'Congress gave a clear message that the Chinese government cannot do such work of any kind.'
