Kolkata: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has intensified its action regarding the alleged involvement of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders in the coal scam. The ED has summoned TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's nephew and party's national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee and his wife Rujira Banerjee. The probe agency has asked the Banerjee couple to appear for questioning next week. Let us tell you that the agency wants to interrogate the Banerjee couple again in connection with the coal scam. The investigation of this case is going on for a long time. In this case, Abhishek Banerjee has been questioned earlier, while Rujira was summoned to Delhi, but she did not appear.

According to sources, he has been summoned to Delhi headquarters next Monday or Tuesday. Let us inform that against the summons of ED, Abhishek and his wife had approached the Delhi High Court. Rujira went to Delhi and lodged a case objecting to the summons. Recently the Delhi High Court had dismissed the petition. At the same time, Mamta Banerjee had accused the Center of misusing central agencies due to political malice against TMC. He said in the assembly that his leaders Malay Ghatak, Anubrata Mandal are called by the CBI. Abhishek's wife, father-in-law, mother-in-law and even his friends were called to Delhi. He had said that sometimes my nephew Abhishek Banerjee, sometimes Malay Ghatak and sometimes Anuvrat Mandal is being called by CBI in the name of interrogation. We are not going to be afraid of this. We cannot be stopped from this. Mamta said that ED and CBI are brothers and are working at the behest of BJP. Mamta said that our government will still be there for 50 years.

Mamta Banerjee claimed that the central government has 90 thousand crore rupees left with the state, which the state government should get. Let us inform that in the investigation of the coal smuggling case worth billions of rupees, it has been found that a section of the state police and some influential people are involved in this. ED has also questioned several police officers in this case. TMC's national general secretary and party MP from Diamond Harbor Abhishek Banerjee has also been questioned. His wife Rujira Banerjee was also summoned by the ED to its Delhi headquarters for questioning, but she refused to appear saying that it would not be possible for her to go from Kolkata to Delhi during the time of Corona. In this case, Sumit Rai, a close aide of Abhishek, was also summoned to Delhi by sending a notice for questioning.
