A Manipuri film based on the life of the Tokyo Olympics silver medallist weightlifter Saikhom Mirabai Chanu will be produced soon.  An agreement in this respect was signed on Saturday between Chanu's family and Imphal-based Seuti Films Production at her residence in Nongpok Kakching. It will take around six months to start shooting for the film, the production house said.

Let us tell you that the film will also be dubbed into English and various Indian languages, it added. Speaking to the media, Manaobi said, "We will start looking for a girl who can essay the role of Mirabai Chanu. She has to match the Olympic medallist's age, height, physique and have some resemblance to her looks. Then she has to be trained on Chanu's lifestyle. It will take at least six months to start shooting."

The chairman said the film on Chanu's life will be a realistic film and a new face will be trained to act as Mirabai. The proposed film will showcase the entire life of Mirabai Chanu beginning her early days in the village and the journey to the Olympics.
