New Delhi: Kargil's hero Vikram Batra was martyred 20 years ago, on 7 July 1999,  while saving his fellow officer, the same Vikram Batra was born today in 1974. The story of the valor of Vikram Batra has become immortalized in the pages of history. At the same time, there is another story of his, about which very few people know. We are talking about his love story. Vikram Batra used to love a girl. The two first met in 1995 before the Kargil War in Punjab University. Where both were doing MA from English.

The two first formed a friendship and later this friendship turned into love. Then in 1996, Vikram was selected at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) after which Vikram moved to Dehradun and left his studies. Vikram was very happy with his selection, but his girlfriend knew that there could be distances in their relationship when Vikram went away. Vikram promised that he would marry his girlfriend after the Kargil war ended. But this did not happen. His girlfriend recalled Vikram saying that "he did not return and gave me memories for a lifetime".

While interviewing a website, Vikram's girlfriend told how Vikram's love will be with him forever. His girlfriend said that "Vikram always used to ask me to get married. She said that once "I also talked about marrying Vikram because my family was there at that time. But the pressure was on to get married. After which Vikram cut the finger with a blade without any thought and filled my demand. After which I chanted Vikram a lot by saying 'full film'. Today we Laila-Majnu, Heer-Raja, Romeo-Juliet love stories, but Vikram Batra's love story is no less than a Bollywood story.
